PILLAR 2:

I came across this one during Paul Eliseo's Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner Course.

I resonated with it because at that point in my life it applied to me in a big way.

Bottom line was that I wasn't happy with the way my body looked.
My goals at the time were a direct intention to change my body without doing anything to change my mental health.
Nothing worked long term (shocker)

Eventually I found the deep work to fix what wasn't working for me on an emotional level and got to the real root cause of the 'issues' I saw on the outside.

Year after year as I form a deeper relationship with myself the meaning behind this quote gets stronger.

Things the mind does:
Worry.
Stress.
Anxiety.
Depression.
Sadness.
Anger.
Keeps you awake at night.
Negative self-talk.
Creating stories.
Binges and suppresses.

Things the body does:
Nothing.
The.
Body.
Isn't.
To.
Blame.
For.
Your.
Current.
Mood and Personal issues.

You know what makes me upset?
When a client or dear friend hates on their bodies and tries to change their bodies when the reality of the situation is, is that there is some pretty deep and meaningful work to be done on the inside.

The list above outlines some of the negative emotion and behaviour stuff that the mind is directly responsible for.

From a scientific, neurological, medical perspective - those above states result in:

High cortisol
Low dopamine
Low serotonin
Hormonal imbalance
Inability to think happy thoughts
High heart rate
Lack of sleep

And a chronic result of these can lead to:
High blood pressure
Hardened arteries
Reduced sexual function
Irregular periods
Premature ageing
Clumsiness
Inability to make decisions
Increased appetite and cravings
Digestive issues, bloating, IBS symptoms

It might be hard to feel this now, but hopefully soon you might see that your body isn't the problem. Just the battlefield.
